The International Royal Academy of Post-Dogmatist Arts, in an effort to validate Ad Reinhardt’s public assertion that there are 4,040 rules of art conduct, is sponsoring the creation of 'The 4,040 Rules of Art Conduct'

The following rules have been approved by the Committee for the Creation of ‘The 4,040 Rules of Art Conduct’ which was formed in 1990 for the singular purpose of gathering together and publishing these rules for the betterment of the art world. 

In Art News Magazine, Volume 55, No. 3; May, 1956, p 36/37 Mr. Reinhardt stated that there are 4,040 rules of art conduct and established a cosmology of the art world in “Joke by Ad Reinhardt, ‘ A Portend of the artist as a Yhung Mandala’’ 

It should be noted here as a clarification that ‘conduct’ is defined not as behavior but as transference or conveyance as in electricity or in terms of art, creativity or image or idea etc..
